Project Construction

Construction of the first phase of the project will include relocation of utilities and construction of two new tracks and one rehabilitated track between the existing depot and Ship Creek Avenue. Construction of the first phase is expected to begin in 2006.

It is anticipated that future phases will include the following (pending funding).

Phase 2 (2007) – Construction of a service building and rehabilitation of the Historic Anchorage Depot.

Phase 3 (2008/2009) – Construction of the new departure lounge over the tracks and a pedestrian skybridge connecting the project with Downtown Anchorage.
