Overview
The F St. Connectivity Project is managed by Alaska Center for Convention and Trade, LLC for the Municipality of Anchorage and constructed by Davis Constructors and Engineers. Work will be occurring within and near Town Square Park. The Park will remain “Open” but will be fenced off in areas to protect users. The work is scheduled to begin May 1, 2008, continuing throughout the summer.
An important element of this project is the improvement of pedestrian facilities both with and near Town Square Park. This will include a new paving pattern in the area occupied by Town Square Donor Bricks. The bricks that are going to be affected by the F St. Connectivity Project will be removed, cleaned, safely stored during construction and then placed back into Town Square Park in a more secure and better defined area along the pedestrian access corridor to the PAC. Bricks that have been broken or damaged over the years will be replaced with new bricks.
A goal of this project is to pay due respect to the people and businesses who contributed to the original Town Square Project by preserving and better protecting the bricks.
