The Imaginarium

The Imaginarium has been a part of Anchorage since 1987, bringing hands-on teaching methods in the natural and physical sciences to over 104,000 annual visitors.

As part of the Expansion, this outreach-driven institution will move to the Museum, helping to incorporate the sciences in Museum exhibitions and improving the Museum’s outreach efforts through traveling programs in Alaska’s rural communities. Educators also will find better programming for the thousands of students that participate in school trips to the Museum.

The Imaginarium will benefit from the collaboration through better access to exhibition design and production facilities that will help students appreciate the relationship between art, history and science in a northern context.
