Project Scope

Originally, the 9th Avenue Rehabilitation Project included only new pavement and minimal sidewalk improvements. After USKH analyzed the existing road conditions, however, it was determined that the road was in poor condition, much of the sidewalk did not meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, and the traffic signals needed upgrading. The goal of the 9th Avenue Rehabilitation is to improve pedestrian access and amenities, improve the roadway through a combination of four-lane and three-lane modifications, and other improvements.

Project Schedule

Phase I construction is scheduled for May 2010. Final Phase II designs are scheduled for June 2010, followed by right-of-way acquisitions and Phase II construction anticipated in 2011.
