Glenn Highway Closure - NONE
The Glenn Highway and 5th Avenue between Ingra Street and Boniface Parkway will be closed from 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 20 to 6:00 a.m. Monday June 23. Please follow posted detour routes.

Bragaw Street Closure
Bragaw Street north of the Glenn Highway to Mountain View Drive
Starting Monday, April 21, 2008 at 9 a.m. until September 2, 2008.
Pedestrian access will remain open.
Business access for Red Apple and Player’s Bingo will remain open via Mountain View Drive.

What is this?
The Glenn-Bragaw Interchange Project will allow three lanes of traffic in each direction on the Glenn Highway to flow under a new raised Bragaw Street. Off ramps on the Glenn Highway for east and west bound Bragaw Street traffic will be added as will a Bragaw Street pedestrian underpass. The interchange is expected to be completed the fall of 2008.
Why is it needed?
Approximately 50,000 vehicles per day travel through the Glenn Highway and Bragaw Street Intersection. There are three westbound lanes, which merge into two near McCarrey Street creating a bottleneck for commuters traveling into Anchorage. The high demand and bottlenecked condition results in severe congestion, delay, and rear-end collisions. Traffic in this area is expected to double in the next 20 years. A grade-separated intersection will allow traffic to continue through the intersection without stopping.
