Destination Downtown Updates for June 6 - June 12
We hope to keep you informed about the downtown construction projects throughout the summer. We will use this list to give you up to the minute changes that might affect your traffic patterns or your business.

Skinny Raven Sports race “The Twilight 12K”
On Friday, June 6th between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM, drivers should expect multiple lane and road closures in the downtown and Government Hill areas for the Skinny Raven Sports Twilight 12K running event. The following roads will be affected:
- H St. between 9th Ave. and 3rd Ave.
- 3rd Ave. between K St. and A St.
- A/C Couplet between 3rd Ave. and Loop Rd.
Residential streets in the Government Hill and Bootleggers Cove area will also have minimal traffic control. Expect APD-performed traffic control, enforcement and pilot car operations.
Please watch for runners and drive with caution.

Mayflower Santa-Cruzan Parade
On Saturday, June 7th between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM, expect short delays on W. 5th Ave. and W. 6th Ave. between E St. and H St. for the Mayflower Santa Cruzan parade. APD officers will lead the parade and control traffic at signalized intersections. Expect short delays and follow officer instructions.

Salmon in the City Festival
On Friday, June 6 between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, expect a full road closure on E St. between W. 4th Ave. and W. 5th Ave. for the Salmon In The City Festival. Please follow appropriate detour routes.

The Alaska Oceans Festival
On Saturday, June 7th between 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM, expect a full road closure on W. 10th Ave. between N St. and P St. for the Alaska Ocean Festival. Please follow appropriate detour routes.

7th Avenue between A and C Streets
Expect an intermittent full westbound closure on 7th Ave. between A St. and C St. for storm drain work. Please follow appropriate detour routes.

Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center (Downtown Area)
Expect multiple sidewalk and road closures in the downtown area due to construction on the new Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center. The following roads will be effected:
• 7th Ave. between F St. & G St.
• 8th Ave. between F St. & G St.
• F St. between 7th Ave. & 8th Ave.
• G St. between 6th Ave. & 8th Ave.
Please use caution and follow detour routes. All businesses in the effected area will be open to the public. Construction will continue in various stages through 2008.

Linny Pacillo Parking Garage (7th & E)
Expect the following closures for construction of the new Linny Pacillo Parking Garage located at 7th Ave. & E St:
+ A single northbound lane closure on E St. between W. 6th Ave. and W. 8th Ave.
+ A full westbound closure on W. 7th Ave. between E St. and F St.
Please follow appropriate detour routes and use caution.

Anchorage Market & Festival (W. 3rd Ave.)
Beginning Saturday, May 10th through Sunday, September 7th, expect lane closures and pedestrian crossings on W. 3rd Ave. between C St. and E St. each Saturday and Sunday from 6 AM through 6 PM for the Anchorage Market & Festival. Please drive with caution and watch for pedestrians.
